The fluke of a Blue Whale, Balaenoptera musculus, with Remora suckerfish attached rises above the water as it deep dives into the Indian Ocean off Sri Lanka.
The Pygmy Blue Whales in the northern Indian Ocean are resident between Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Oman and may be a distinct subspecies.
