Members of Mauchline Burns Club acting as the "Screamin' Preachers" at Mauchline's Holy Fair.
The Holy Fair is a famous poem by Robert 'Rabbie' Burns about a local festival which took place in the village of Mauchline in East Ayrshire in the eighteenth century. The Mauchline Burns Club have revived this festival which was held for the tenth time in 2011. The Screamin' Preachers represent the presbyterian clergy of Burns' day, featured in his Holy Fair poem. They go around haranguing the public about their sins, and urging them to repent on pain of damnation.
